Weems Memorial Hospital and TMH formed a clinical affiliation in 2008. Weems Memorial and its Carrabelle Clinic are pleased to partner with a larger healthcare system that is "aiming to deliver world class healthcare."

The staff at Weems especially benefits from TMH's professional growth and development programs because these same "best practices" are being brought to the patients at Weems Memorial Hospital through its clinical affiliation with TMH. With the formal affiliation, Weems' physicians can connect readily to TMH's physicians. Physician specialists like surgeons, orthopedists, neurologists, and medical oncologists are invited to rotate to Franklin County for appointments. If a Weems patient needs to be transferred to TMH's larger tertiary facility, the connection is made in a seamless and time-saving way with utmost care for the patient's welfare.

All patients at Weems benefit from the "bench strength" of TMH in pharmacy, information technology, infection control, and case management, as well as other areas. Similarly, patients indirectly realize advantages and efficiencies because Weems has the opportunity to participate in the volume buying of TMH's purchasing cooperatives.

"This... has been a successful partnership in every sense of the word," said Mark O'Bryant, President & CEO, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. "The community and its political leadership supported their local hospital to make it successful and to give their neighbors the best health care possible. The Weems Memorial Hospital Board of Directors and Administration have taken the lead by creating a service that provides greater access to health care for its citizens. Tallahassee Memorial is honored to be part of such a dynamic community and to partner with you on creating a great health care system in Franklin County."
