Weems Healthcare Foundation Donates $6000 for PPE Supplies

The George E. Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation donated $6,000 last week to the George E. Weems Memorial Hospital to purchase PPE supplies for the Hospital, East/West Clinics and EMS. According to Foundation president John Solomon, the donation is “part of our plan to treat patients during this COVID-19 Pandemic.”

“The foundation wants to thank all of our first responders, doctors and nurses who are dedicated to keeping our community healthy and safe,” said Solomon.

The George E. Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation was formed in 2009. The primary purpose of the George E. Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation is to provide charitable, medical, scientific, educational and research aid in the form of property and services to George E. Weems Memorial Hospital, its subsidiaries, departments, and affiliates.

“We are very grateful to the Foundation for its generous donation to assist us with securing PPE supplies to take care of our patients”, said David Walker, CEO of Weems. “We are always looking to increase our supply chain to be prepared to respond to COVID-19”.

The George E. Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation is a Florida not-for-profit corporation, organized under Chapter 617 of the Florida Statutes, and is licensed by the State of Florida as a charitable organization. It is designated as a public charity under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and exempt from federal income tax. Contributions to the Foundation are deductible by donors and/or their estates for federal income, gift, and estate tax purposes.
