Weems to Host Free COVID-19 Virus and Antibody Testing Tuesday, July 14

George E. Weems Memorial Hospital and  Florida Department of Health in Franklin County (DOH-Franklin)  will conduct a  free drive-through COVID-19 and antibody testing event on Tuesday, July 14 from 8am- 1pm. The testing will occur through the circular driveway at the hospital on Avenue G in Apalachicola. Symptoms are not required for testing.

The COVID-19 test for virus is a nasal swab test and results come back within 3-7 days according to hospital officials. The antibody test requires a blood sample and results are generally available within two  days.

This is the second major testing event hosted by Weems and DOH- Franklin in as many weeks. On June 29, Weems and DOH-Franklin hosted an event and tested 391 people for COVID-19 and 111 anitbody tests.

In addition to this event, COVID-19 and antibody tests are offered at both Weems clinics in Apalachicola and Carrabelle.  Individuals can call either the East Clinic at 850-697-2345 and/or West Clinic at (850) 653-1525 to schedule an appointment for testing.
