The Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation exists to drive philanthropic support of Weems Memorial by actively supporting Weems' desire to serve the community and its visitors.
At Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation, every gift helps strengthen the health of our community. In partnership with the Hospital Board, and leadership team we have identified key priorities for 2026 where generosity & sponsorship proceeds can make an immediate and lasting difference.
Comfort, Care & Stronger Community
Your support helps bring compassionate, high-quality healthcare closer to home for Franklin County residents.
Our clinics continue to grow, serving more than 6,600 patient visits annually. To meet this need, our current priority is updating exam room beds and equipment - creating a safer, more comfortable environment for every patient.
Clinic Care Enhancements — Goal: $40,000
• New exam room beds at West Clinic
• Standard beds at East Clinic
• Specialty beds to support each clinic’s needs
We are also working to bring DEXA bone density screening to our community, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for this important preventive service. Adding bone density screenings to those offered via the new CT lab at Weems Memorial Hospital will support:
• Women 65+ and men 70+
• Adults 50+ with osteoporosis risk factors
Your generosity also helps advance compassionate care close to home - from hospice
improvements and patient room enhancements to community spaces like the Reflecting Garden.
Together, we are strengthening healthcare, hope, and healing in our community.

Cocktails & Chef-Curated Fare For-a-Cause
Saturday, November 14, 2026
Apalachicola Yacht Club
7 - 10:30 pm
Each event thus far has brought together many likeminded residents, visitors and supporters of our community who join us in our commitment to enhance the availability and confidence in rural healthcare available here in Franklin County. With modest yet building net outcome from the event, we are motivated to stay-the-course. And while a positive momentum is building, there is still much more we can do, together*. Our small-but-mighty team is seeking major local or corporate sponsors for this year’s event to continue to drive success that will benefit all who would be served through Weems Memorial Hospital.
*Venue and vendor costs to be offset through donations can yield increased net funds to go directly to underwrite 2026-2027 priorities, with your help.
There's more to do — email us if you want to get involved or make a donation. Checks can be mailed to us at PO Box 786, Apalachicola, FL 32329.
Many thanks!
